Degree Programmes

The School of Arts, Design and Architecture has a wide selection of bachelor's level major subjects and master's programmes with different major subjects. We also offer doctoral education.

Aalto University's joint master's programmes

Aalto University’s study offer incorporates joint, multidisciplinary modules that combine knowledge from three disciplines in a new way. 

Launched in autumn 2010, the first interdisciplinary study modules include the International Design Business Management and Creative Sustainability Master’s degree programmes. Master-level minor subject modules are also available for these programmes.

Creative Sustainability

Creative Sustainability is an international and multidisciplinary master's programme at Aalto University.

The programme consists of lectures, seminars and a case study exercise carried out in cooperation with companies, organisations and municipalities. The seminars of the programme are implemented in cooperation with the international LeNS – Learning Network on Sustainability university network.

The programme also offers a minor subject module for Aalto University’s Master-level students.

International Design Business Management

The International Design Business Management (IDBM) programme is a joint master's programme offered by Aalto University School of Business, School of Arts, Design and Architecture and the School of Science. Its roots lie in the 15-year history of minor subject cooperation between the schools. More than 600 students have participated in the minor subject programme and approximately 150 corporate projects have been carried out in the framework of the programme.

The IBDM programme is implemented in close cooperation with companies. The programme provides future business, technology and design professionals with the opportunity to develop in challenging business projects. The programme trains world-class experts for planning and implementing business concepts that also make use of design and technology.
