Aalto ARTS Books
Aalto ARTS Books publishes books on design, media, art, art education and architecture. We annually publish 25–30 books of high visual quality and content in the academic and non-fiction field.
An aim of our publishing is to give prominence to the latest advances and findings in the visual arts. Our published works are both peer-reviewed and scholarly as well as non-fiction aimed at communicating the latest research results to a wider audience.
Academic publications
Peer review is the foundation for academic publication decision-making. Peer review means that manuscripts for academic publication are sent to at least two outside anonymous experts for evaluation. Authors send their freshly finished manuscripts for evaluation, and they must be prepared to revise their manuscripts on the basis of the experts’ statements. The Aalto ARTS Books editorial board’s final decision on publishing is based on peer review statements. For approved manuscripts, arrangements are made together with the publisher to set the date of publication.
